busy weekend

my time is like spinning seconds off me!
time is not enough for me at all!

whole week busy with work..
weekday nights busy meeting my dear sorting out our stuff..
meeting my dad for his cravings~

haha..

weekend..
my dear was really sweet to join my dad for lunch.. =)
then he went off for his busy sat working schedule..
then joined my dad to pick up the car..
then i had to rush off to meet nini...

cos... it is an important day!
went out to celebrate nini's bdae..
=)

managed to let her choose a nice watch herself.. cos..
i prefer she choose something she really like than something she don...

we went shopping at our usual hunts..
but nothing to our liking...
those with our liking.. don have our sizes.. haha.. =)

then i booked a nice dinner buffet for us both..
but.. somehow the ambience made us both nauseous and giddy..
so we couldn't enjoy the meal at all..
in fact.. we both went home with headache.. =(

nevertheless.. we even bring back wrong shopping bag~
haha..

sunday...
went for my bike lesson~
i'm so close to getting my license! hehe.. =)
cleared 7.01...
now have to clear 8.01
then i can go for my TP test..
then i will get my bike lesson le! =)
hehe..

tired..

i going sleep le..

weddings..

hee hee... i just watched the wedding preparations for fann wong & christopher lee...
awww.. so sweet lah...

makes me think of how my dear and i got together too..

if my memory serves me right..

we knew each other in ngee ann..
were in the same class during our 3rd yr studies...
he says he knew me when we were in yr 2 or so..
but i dunno him till we were in same class lah..

well..
he wooed me since poly days...
right up to even after graduation..
we kept in close contact..
talking for hours at times..
porridge phone talk (translate to chinese)
=)

we got together in 2003...
just 1 day before he went to serve the nation..
we were lucky he need not go to the frontline..
he has many off days that we would sneak out to shop and play~

he served the nation.. i did my studies lor..
then when i start work.. he started nus..
so now.. he finish nus.. i still working..

well.. time really flies..
since we got together till now..
it has been 5+ yrs... going 6 yrs le...

we had our share of fights... cold war and all..
we survived it all..
settled our differences..
our working schedules..
our families...

and..
we're going to get married! =)

brazilian buffet dinner

had a long day at work..
after meetings and mooncake deliveries..

went to meet my dad for dinner..
my dad wanted to try out the new brazil food at united square so i went over there to meet them.
my dad has quite fussy taste buds..
so.. for him to praise a restaurant is not an easy task...

this new fiesta brazilia at united square actuallly got my dad asking for more~!
the service was great~

we just told 1 chef that we don take beef, and they never served us beef already..
my ma & sis are crazy for roasted pineapple and we keep asking for it.. and they continually serve us with it..
i love their garlic bread and chicken & bacon wrap, and they remembered...
so that is really good service..

quality food too~
for a buffet spread.. with pasta bar, salad bar, fruits bar, ice cream bar..
the place is all you can eat..
the portions are not meant to make you bloat but for you to try out the different choices of food available..

so.. thumbs up!

lazy monday...

well.. today is indeed a lazy monday..
met up with my dear.. met up with his friends..
had a very very full lunch..

slacked around vivo..
slacked at home..
napped with the cosy weather..

night seems so tiring..
cos we were running through the list of pple to invite for our wedding...
from 20+ tables.. it went up to 30+ tables...
can really faint..

he asked me.."am i happy with him?"
my answer straight and blunt .."of cos i am"

then it got me thinking..
what is individual's definition of happiness?

my definition of happiness is being able to..
see him every possible day..
him to put his hands around me..
having meals with him..
holding hands as we walk around..
being acknowledged by his friends as his gf/financee/wife..
him to tell him his problems/joy..
having meals with my family..
chatting with my siblings..
gossipping with my friends..
drinking/msning with my friends..

i will not settle for second best happiness..
cos i want the happiness the way i want it...
cos.. those are my definition of happiness..
so what is yours?

Shopping Spree Sunday!

well... i had quite a rough week with my ma cos i wasn't really spending time with her...

she had a rough week cos my grandma was having a bad swollen foot due to gout..

so... to make up to her..

i acceded her request to accompany her on sunday..

cos my sis is out to KL to visit her in-laws too..

we went vivo.. cos no where togo ..

so that is the shopping mall near my grandma's house..

also.. got chance to meet my dear there..

well.. it was initially a quiet drive there..

cos everyone was feeling moody..

only ma, me and nick..

then.. we just walked aimlessly around..

then.. we just stepped into tangs..

and all things change~

shopping really does wonders.. =)

my ma started spotting some dresses for my sis's wedding..

so i helped her with that..

from taking 1 piece to try.. became.. many many more..

that was just the clothes section..

then we went on to the shoes section..

from 1 pair... became.. many many more..

well.. 2 of us were like little girls trying to figure out which suit her best..

my bro helped too~

so my bro and i were really happy that we managed to help my ma lift her spirits up..

(trust me.. she had been snapping at all of us recently...)

so.. our final shopping outcome was...

my ma's list:

1 orange top

1 red top

1 purple dress

1 black skirt

1 black flowery skirt

1 pair of heels

1 pair of flats

my outcome was:

1 pair of flat

(super hard to resist temptation when the original price was $100+ and there was 70% off lah!)

i went to suntec on saturday cos my bro wanted to go to the games convention..

i don remember the name of the event lah..

but i quite enjoy myself there..

cos.... 1st time i see so many pple cosplay there!

really very fun lah!

it's like.. they are enjoying every minute of fame in that sense..

cos pple are taking photos of them.. and they are happily enjoying their pose!

Prawn Fishing~

well well well~~~
guess what~

my dear gave me a great great surprise!
he actually joined my company's prawn fishing activity!

i was really surprised lah!
cos i was out for meeting at ECP area... then he called ma and ask if i reach AMK for my company event already..

i was telling him.. i still at ECP waiting for cab to go over..
then he said he come fetch me!
so so so sweet lah~

even my colleague say i'm super super lucky to have him!
at the prawn fishing place at AMK..

lucky my dear around lah..
i have totally no luck with prawn at all one..

he helped me catch 1! haha.. =)
my team caught a total of about 15 prawns.. total weight of 500g..
err.. the other winning team got 1.1kg.. fierce lah..

well.. i was the envy of all my colleague cos my dear was around to support me! =)
sad thing was he had to leave early for his class..
good thing is.. everyone knows he's my husband cos of the rock he gave me! =)

busy planning for wedding + trip..
to find a date that everyone agrees upon..
finding a place to house the banquet..
getting approval to go for the trip..

busy managing my family's expectation..
that i can go for my album taking trip..
that i come home late..
that i really know what i'm doinng..
(i'm only young once.. if i don do it now.. i will not be able to do it in future....)

hence.. busy + crazy week..

marriage..
what is the definition of marriage..

is it just between 2 people?
2 families?
or just traditional rites..?

i guess..
it is when 2 decide to be married,
2 families will be involved..
then all the traditional rites have to be performed for the union to be justified..

can't 2 people just be selfish & elope?
they cannot..
cos they have families that endear to them..

can't 2 people just do whatever they like?
they cannot..
cos they are responsible to their families..

can't 2 people just do a simple ceremony?
they cannot..
cos they have to 'answer' to the elders in the clan..

why 2 families have so many comments?
cos they want the couple to have a good marriage..

why 2 families need so much time to prepare?
cos there are many traditional rites to observe..

why 2 families have to be around when marriage happens?
cos it shows the family give the couple their blessings..

why tradition rites have to be performed?
cos to ensure the couple have a blissful marriage..
cos it is to 'inform' the elders in the clan that the couple is married..
cos it is for families to 'inform' relatives that the couple has achieved something..

that should be all the FAQs that i have encountered...
till then...

been meeting some bumps along my ideal plans..
pple may think i'm rushin into things.. but i seriously am not...

marriage is something that we've been discussing since 05'...
just that he was studying so we never put into action..

recent years of witnessing our friends' marriage, my sis' marriage..
tat really strike us that we should get married too..
for us to settle down..

but .. we've been facing some issues..
about whether my parents is available to sign..
whether it is a 'approved' date..
tat now is not a good time to go taiwan...
that the banquet is late into 2010..
haiz..

i know the traditions are there to ensure all is blissful for the couple..
but ... aren't there tad too many?

or is it that we plan too late for pple to react..
or we plan too fast for pple to react?

why..
marriage now seems like a unsurmountable task... with all the roadblocks..
are they supposed to us stronger or deter us from marriage?
